The purpose of the Longview Church of God Food Pantry is to help alleviate the physical and emotional hunger of those in our church and our local community in a dignified and supportive manner. Those we serve come from different ethnic backgrounds; they are children, young adults, adults as well as the elderly. They’re employed, under-employed, unemployed, living on social security, disability, or public assistance. They are those who, after paying their utilities, rent, car expenses and medical bills, don't have enough money left to buy food. We want to share the abundance God has given us with those in need as well as shower them with kindness and love. We believe the words of Jesus that this is one way we can respond directly to God's love for us:
"For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Matthew 25:35
